The Estate Selection is a delicate and pure expression of Sharpham’s Madeleine Angevine, showing English meadow, lemon zest and floral characteristics. A touch of salinity from some time on lees, but essentially a clean, dry and lifted wine.
Estate Selection is 100% Madeleine Angevine from Sharpham’s Sandridge Barton vineyard, harvested in early October. Only free run juice was fermented spontaneously in stainless steel then two tanks were selected as having the ‘Estate Selection style’. One parcel sat on gross lees for five months with batonage every 3-4 weeks, another 2500 litre tank spent 5 months on fine lees. The wine was lightly filtered before bottling.
