Description

Clos des Trois Clochers

Region: Villers-Allerand, Champagne

Grape: Chardonnay

Tasting Notes: It’s a harmonious champagne with a mature, toasty nose, and pear, citrus and fine barrel spices on the palate.

In 2012 Leclerc Briant was saved from oblivion when it was acquired by Mark Nunelly and Denise Dupré, an American couple who are great enthusiasts of the French “art de vivre” and who fell in love with the nonconformist character of the House. They are joined by Frédéric Zeimett, a native of Champagne, who since then has led the House to the marches of Champagne codes, serving the expression of a unique style that is now internationally recognized.

The Chardonnay grapes that serve as the base for this vintage champagne are harvested exclusively from the 0.4-hectare plot of the premier cru-certified village of Villers Allerand. The base wine is aged in oak barrels for 9 months, then in bottles for a minimum of 36 months on lees. A dosage of 1 gram was added during disgorging, in order to highlight its complexity, elegance, creaminess and minerality. The limited edition consists of only 1,600 bottles.
