Description
Marques de Riscal
Region : Rioja Alavesa, Rioja, Spain
Grape : Tempranillo 80%, Graciano 10%, Mazuelo 10%
The origins of the house go back to 1858 and throughout its history has always been an innovating, pioneering cellar with reference in a constantly changing winemaking sector. Aswell as bottling the first ever Rioja wine, they were also the first non-French wine to win the diploma of honour of the Bordeaux Exhibition.
The wine is an intense black cherry colour. After 28 months in French oak casks, the wine has an elegant & complex nose with aromas of black fruit & spice. It is smooth and round with firm yet silky, sweet tannins. The finish is long, lingering, fresh and balanced.
