Food Pairing: Perfect for fish and chicken dishes… or fantastic on its own.
On the right bank of the Douro River, between Régua and Pinhão, lies Quinta do Crasto, a 135-hectare estate, 74 of which are planted in vines. The property benefits from the prime conditions of this privileged location in the Cima Corgo region and produces premium and super premium Douro and Porto wines from grapes coming from some of the oldest and most historic vines in the Douro.
The grapes, chosen from selected plots, are taken to the winery in 22 kg plastic boxes. On arrival in the winery they are rigorously inspected on a sorting table. The grapes are then destemmed and slightly pressed. Only the free run juice is used and it is transferred to stainless steel tanks where it remains for 48 hours at 8ºC for
decanting. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 14ºC for 30 days.
