Description
Electric IPA, an American IPA – Malty sweetness with a floral, citrus and tropical fruit hit. Bold and satisfying.
Inspired by Electric Avenue, the beating heart of Brixton, this lively IPA is an assault on the senses – much like its namesake. This beer is all about the interplay between malt and hop – the perfect harmony of sweet and bitter. Electric is assertive but perfectly balanced with a solid backbone that rolls into a lingering hoppy finish.
Brixton Brewery’s Electric IPA is, appropriately enough, the strongest of all of their core beers at 6.0% ABV. It’s named after Electric Avenue, one of Brixton’s most buzzing and historic thoroughfares, immortalised by the classic Eddie Grant song: “We’re gonna rock down to Electric Avenue! And then we’ll take it higher!”
Electric Avenue got its name because it was the first London shopping street to have electric lights. In the 1880s it was a famous shopping destination, known as the Oxford Street of South London. But the crazy eclectic hustle and bustle of the modern Electric Avenue is what we love about it, and what inspired our beer.
